For my first spanish experience, let me say that lulo has definetly made a good impression. The food is simply devine and the wine to accompany the dishes, just fantastic.
The dished I would recommend are, the Zucchiflowers filled with soft riccotta cheese, they were just so light and delightful.
The quail filled with quava paste was delicious, served with a side of pomegranite & pressed quail jus
complimented it quit well.
Oven baked scallops served with cauliflower & mojo (a spicy sauce) were just superb...i just had to have more!
There was such a wide varietly of wine, mainly from spain and other regions for southern america. I tried a sensational wine from spain, rioja. It was a Tempranillo, a nice rich tasting red which is well balanced and not too heavy with a beautiful oaky flavour and nice dry finish.
The environment at lulo is great with dimmed down lights at the bar and dozens on tealight candles which really do set the mood, also with the great range of modern latin american music playing in the background. The staff were very helpful and were more than happy to explain the menu, describe particular dishes and ingredients..as I said spannish food is a new thing to me. All up lulo was a great learning experience, for anyone who likes to experiment and try different things I would recommend you try this place out.
