Love it! Every time I come to Cairns I go to Salt House... fantastic place in lovely surroundings...Staff are friendly, enthusiastic and happy

I went last week and had their seafood platter. Enormous cold platter for 2 with 2 free drinks. Loved it so much moved on to the day bed in the bar and relaxed with a bottle of wine. The staff then recommended the cheese and wine special, how could i say no!

I have been asked to go here far too many times by my friends however I find the menu similar to any pub menu I ahve seen but with the prices jacked up so high I don't know who would eat more than a main. Then there is the taste of the food - bland and well... I could make better chips!

Ask the bartender about the details of the wine on their special wine list and they don't have a clue. I can't quite imagine how the waitress could look down her nose at me and be rude when even she didn't know which was a good vintage.

All in all I thought the staff were rude and obnoxious who were really there to take my money and do nothing for it in return. The staff really just ruined what could have been a really good, fun and relaxing atmosphere.
