Fantastic shop and also the British shop all we can say from our first visit on Tuesday 23 october 2012 .The fish was great and my very fussy husband loved the steak & Guinness pie .Keep up the good work owners but would you get some Hollands puddings too please ..Tpot..

Awesome fish and chips just like back home! Ignore negative comments from Aussies who would not know fish and chips if it bit them up the rear. If you like Fish and Chips the way it ought to be and not just reheated frozen crap then you will like this.

the food is the best but the outside seating is very uncomfortable ..wooden benches ....

Some friends of ours recommended Chumley Warners to us, so we thought we'd give it a go and were very pleased with the results.

Having grown up in the UK, it brought back the memories as soon as you stepped foot in the door, just from the smells, exactly like our local chippy in Cornwall.

It wasn't really that busy when we got there, but it soon got very busy, we had to wait a while, a little longer than we thought really, but it was so worth the wait. We ordered the mini pack of fish and chips, which was $10 each, so not cheap, but there was nothing mini about it, just a normal portion size. The fish and batter was lovely and the chips were just great, real potato, a bit stuck together, just as us Brits like it.

We are from Northside of Brisbane, but if ever we're coming back from the Gold Coast we will DEFINATELY be calling in here again.

It sounds like you're an Aussie which is why you didn't enjoy them. British chips ARE soggy - thats what they're supposed to be like, doused in vinegar and salt, and that's why they're so bloody tasty. It is on the expensive side but SO worth it as the portions are massive - the cod I've eaten from Australian fish and ship shops is TINY and tasteless, at Chumley Warners it was definately North Atlantic, huge portion and beautifully cooked to order in a crispy batter. Also - as all the fish is north Atlantic I'd be really worried if it WASN'T of the frozen variety Rooney! Don't think you'd appreciate the flavour if they didn't freeze it...

Chumley Warners for a TRADITIONAL British taste gets 5/5 from me but for all the Aussies out there remember it is British and it may therefore not be to your tastes as it's not what you've been brought up on.
