We sat down ordered and asked what rice cake was,the waiter replied rice cake,my reply was is it like a turnip cake, his reply it's a rice cake. The waiter couln't even answer a simple question?I ordered it and it was a dough remsebling a sausage roll stir fried with some vegetables.

After we ordered the food came all at once-7 dishes of dumplings dumped on our table within 5 mins, how are we suppose to enjoy these dishes.

Never going back

After turning up and bring told our table has been given away, we waited 15 mins for another table. However, we got prime postion table after all the fuss. We ordered two soups, which were frankly average. Once the dumplings turned up, all was forgiven! The fried dumplings were impecable, steamed on one side and fried with a crunchy thin skin! The prawn dumplings were to die for, and the others loved the Peking duck dumplings. The chilli santons were heaven and I will go back specifically for these. Give the vegetable dumplings a miss.

I will def go back again but will tailor my order to the above recomendations!

Have now eaten here four times in the evening and each time have had wonderful service and fantastic food. We have found the waiting staff knowledgable and helpful - to the point they have told us we have ordered too much!! or suggested that food comes in a different order so that the flavours compliment each other better. Wine selection is great and I love the ambiance. The prices are not for the faint hearted - but I have found that the service and quality of food has lived up to the price.

don't bother. food is not worth the price, and the service is poor enough to make you want to cry - or throw something. rude, unoriginal and overpriced. save yourself the trouble - stick to red door (or even oriental tea house) for a worthwhile experience in the area.

The restaurant is well presented. There are plenty of staff and is in a good location. Unfortunately the food is crap. The dumplings we had were overcooked. The chilli Wontons were bathed in so much oil that it would certainly assist in going to the bathroom. The worst part about our experience there was that the pork Dim Sum's were undercooked, where all the meat inside was pink and raw. We paid the bill and left after 10 minutes there. Pity, the restaurant has had so much money spent on it to make it look exclusive, but we should have realised that the restaurant was virtually empty on a Saturday lunch....for a reason. Don't waste your money. The The Oriental Tea House around the corner is a MUCh better bet.
